At Cottage Springs we believe every kid deserves the chance to play organized sports. Beyond just physical health, we believe sports teaches kids the power of teamwork and leads to lifelong friendships. We have formed a partnership with the Trevor Barton Foundation to put on events and raise money in an effort to put thousands of kids in organized sports who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford it.
The barriers to entry for underprivileged children to play sports and participate in physical activity are often too high to overcome. We hope to alleviate this problem.
Sports and physical activity teach children various important life lessons: they open a child's mind, bring together children from various backgrounds, build confidence and self-esteem, and improve mental and physical health. Children living in poverty are in special need of these benefits and of the grants provided by the Foundation.
